NEW STOCK JUST IN!!!!!!

One Ton of carp

The first weekend in December saw some superb new additions to the lake to complement our existing stock..

A total of 1 Ton of Czech Royal Carp have been introduced to the fishery. All of these carp weighed in at over 20 lbs, with the majority of carp approaching mid 30 lbs.

As you can see from the photo's, all of these carp are in perfect condition and gave a good indication of their fighting spirit. The guys were certainly having difficulty keeping them calm for their photo before introducing them to the lake.

This particular breed of carp are renowned for their extraordinarily fast growth rate. Each of these carp are capable of gaining in excess of 5 lbs of weight a year!

We are sure you will agree that these carp make an excellent addition to the lake and we look forward to seeing them back out in the years to come.

November 2007

Last week saw the start of the Lake and grounds general maintenance after a hectic summer, but before I go any further I would just like to say a big thank you to Mick, Pete and Alison for coming over to France and helping in sub zero temperatures.

We started the work by digging in some new steps to access the left bank (any one lucky enough to have been guests and fished there will know what a climb it could be to the toilet), not any more!

Next on the list was repairing the old steps to the right bank, sorted.

Then onto making one of the swims a bit easier to land the fish.

swim

Yes that is ice on the lake! I'm glad Pete volunteered to put his waders on ! The next day, after thawing out, we tackled the reeds, waders and welly time again!

Roll on spring..........

I even managed to sneak a couple of fish out during the first afternoon....
